I randomly stumbled upon The Sojourn because I needed a place close to where I was working, and honestly, it was the best accident ever. It turned out to be even better than the hotel down the road—perfect privacy, massive rooms, and ridiculously comfortable beds. I travel from Australia, and a year later, I made sure to book a full week here because I loved it so much. Emily Maribel was incredible—so professional and genuinely nice to talk to. I arrived super early from my flight, exhausted, and she went out of her way to get me an early check-in so I could rest. That’s the kind of service that goes above and beyond, where most places would just make you wait until check-in time. The little details in this boutique hotel make all the difference almost like something out of a Hollywood movie set. It has this cool 80s/90s vibe that really suits the place, giving it a unique and personal feel. I never felt like I was staying at a hotel—it actually felt like home, which is really important to me. Highly recommend!

Great location. Tastefully kitschy decor, friendly service. Mid-century optimistic architecture. You drive under a few of the rooms when you come in. Good traveler experience. Appealing looking pool. Didn’t do breakfast yet because five minute walk to IHOP. Took off a star because a bit noisy at night. Very nice experience overall. Set your watch back to the Eisenhower administration and give it a go.

The Sojourn was an awesome experience. We stayed for eight nights and felt like we had a home away from home. The location is fantastic and there is parking, a pool, breakfast, and coffee in the morning. The room was spacious and stylish. The bed was comfortable and there was a place for all of our stuff. The kitchen is excellent with a refrigerator and a microwave and even cabinets. The staff is friendly and Marcy and Maribel make you feel welcome! I highly recommend The Sojourn.

I was looking for a getaway weekend trip at universal and a modest place to stay. The room was clean and pretty spacious. All staff were very professional ,but I needed help getting an extra key card and a very helpful and charming employee by the name of Kat got me a new one within the snap of a finger. I couldn’t recommend this place more considering the pricing.

Mixed Experience: Comfortable Stay but Room for Improvement at The Sojourn Hotel We stayed for 3 nights in a double queen bedroom, and overall, it was a mixed experience. Here’s a breakdown: Pros: • The reception desk staff were very helpful. When it got cold, they promptly brought us a heating blower, which was much appreciated. • The breakfast was enjoyable, with a good variety of options like cereals, jellies, jams, and both orange and apple juices. • If you’re without a car, the location is convenient as there’s a bus stop nearby. • Across Ventura Blvd, there’s a Persian restaurant called Shiraz that serves authentic food. Definitely worth a visit! • The bed sheets, pillows, and mattresses seemed brand-new. While the pillows were traditional and lacked neck support, the beds were very comfortable. opened. • A 7-Eleven store is just a 2-minute walk away. Cons: • The room lacked essential amenities like a microwave, closet, racks, hangers, slippers, and iron which was inconvenient for a longer stay. • The heater worked but struggled to keep the room warm during colder days, making the additional heating blower necessary. • The bathroom window rail was difficult to open and close. We had to ask the front desk to help, and while they managed to close it, one side of the window still slightly opened. • Smoking in the parking area was another issue, as the smell of smoke occasionally drifted into the room when the door was open, which was unpleasant. Overall, while the staff and some aspects of the stay were pleasant, the lack of amenities and minor inconveniences could be improved to make the experience more comfortable.

Just a day prior I stayed at the courtyard next door. I wasn’t exonerating to stay in the city an extra day so called this place and the girls in the front Emily and Maribel were the absolute best. The staff were very professional, the rooms were cleaner and nicer than I anticipated. I almost felt as if I was transported to Palm Springs. The price was also very inexpensive.

This was the perfect hotel. The staff, Marcy and Maribel were so sweet and accommodating. They made it an easy and a pleasant stay. I had a beautiful room with a kitchenette - very clean and comfortable. The hotel provides an awesome continental breakfast and the location was great, right on Ventura Blvd with markets close and the freeway as well. I will stay here every time I’m back in LA. Thank you so much Marcy and Maribel and the Sojourn! See you next time.
